Warriors Sign Niang to Final Roster Spot

Golden State filled its 15th and final roster spot by signing forward Georges Niang to a one-year, $3.9 million contract, while adding guard Brandon Williams in free agency. Niang is a career 40% three-point shooter who provides veteran depth and shooting to fit the Warriors’ bench. He previously played for the Jazz, Cavaliers, Hawks, 76ers and Celtics, and missed all of last season with a foot injury before returning to contribute for Golden State. The deal pushes the Warriors into the NBA's second salary-cap apron for the season, limiting roster flexibility. Niang is expected to bolster a thinning wing rotation and back up key forwards as the team looks to compete for a high playoff seed in 2026-27. Golden State's regular-season opener remains set for Oct. 21 vs. the Los Angeles Lakers.
