Skanska signs $1.2B US data centers deal
Skanska signed a contract worth about SEK 11.2 billion ($1.2 billion) to build four data centers in the southeastern United States. The project covers roughly 75,000 square meters (808,000 square feet) and includes shell construction plus interior fit-out for technical spaces, support areas, and offices. Construction is slated to begin in the third quarter of 2026 and conclude in the third quarter of 2028. The client is unnamed, described as an existing client, and the deal will be booked in Skanska’s US order bookings for 2026 Q3. The contract strengthens Skanska’s presence in the fast-growing digital infrastructure segment and adds substantial backlog in the U.S. market. Skanska emphasizes its role in delivering data-center scale projects, with the work focusing on non-IT infrastructure elements like shells and fit-outs.
