Northpointe Names Long EVP, COO, Chief Credit Officer
Northpointe Bancshares is strengthening its leadership by appointing Joseph (JB) Long as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Credit Officer, with his duties taking over September 14, 2026, from Kevin Comps who will continue as President. The appointment follows Northpointe Bank’s February 2025 IPO and signals an ongoing focus on expanding leadership in operations, risk management and capital markets. Long brings more than 30 years of experience in the banking and mortgage sectors, including roles as Chief Banking & Capital Markets Officer at Cenlar FSB and senior positions at Incenter Lender Services, Onity Group (Ocwen), and TIAA Bank. The company’s employment agreement with Long outlines severance provisions, post-employment COBRA benefits, and non-compete/ confidentiality terms, with eligibility to participate in equity incentives. Separately, Bank of America Corp DE increased its stake in Northpointe Bancshares in the first quarter, and several other major investors also added positions, reflecting strong investor interest and market activity around the company. Northpointe officials characterized Long’s appointment as a strategic move to support its growth trajectory and risk-managed expansion strategy.
