Lachlan Turner Extends WMX Lead at Budds Creek
Lachlan Turner of Altus Motorsports BluCru Yamaha extended her control of the WMX season with a dominant Budds Creek weekend, sweeping motos and cementing a substantial lead as the championship heads to the final round. Across the Budds Creek events, Charli Cannon repeatedly challenged, finishing strong and keeping the title battle alive, while Mikayla Nielsen and Mayla Herrick had moments of brilliance marred by mechanicals or crashes. The races featured dramatic on-track passes, including Turner’s mid-race moves that secured multiple motos and overall victories despite early starts and changing track conditions. Weather and track variability tested riders, but Turner consistently rose to the top, underscoring her consistency this season. Cannon’s continued podium streak and Nielsen’s podium threat kept the competition tight, with several riders like McCutcheon and Bell delivering notable early holeshots and later finishes. The results set up a winner-take-all finale as Turner seeks a title that would cap a near-dominant stretch of the 2026 WMX season.
