Mourners gathered at Swansea Minster to bid farewell to Bonnie Tyler, with her white rose-adorned coffin carried into the church to the singer’s own hits, While outsiders could watch the private service on a screen outside. Friends and relatives, including her manager since 1988, described Tyler as a star who remained rooted in her Welsh origins and never a diva, highlighting her generosity and kindness. Tributes also emphasized her lifelong devotion to family, especially her husband Robert Sullivan, and noted she was born Gaynor Hopkins and grew up in Skewen before rising to international fame. Tyler died in Portugal at 75 after a hospital stay and emergency surgery, a loss that sparked a worldwide outpouring of tributes from fans and fellow musicians alike, including recognition from Parliament and the Portuguese government. Crowds had earlier lined the streets of Mumbles to welcome her coffin home, echoing the lasting connection she maintained with her Welsh roots.
