Fans gathered in Swansea’s Mumbles and along surrounding streets to bid farewell to Bonnie Tyler. Her coffin was carried in a hearse draped with a Welsh flag as part of a homecoming procession. The Welsh icon, born Gaynor Hopkins, died at 75 in a Portuguese hospital after emergency intestinal surgery and an extended period in care. The funeral at Swansea Minster will be a celebration of life at midday, with tributes from longtime associates and songs including It’s A Heartache, Total Eclipse of the Heart, If I Sing You A Love Song, Bridge Over Troubled Water, and Those Were The Days; Total Eclipse of the Heart will be performed during the ceremony. Following the church service, she will be taken to Skewen for a private family committal, with a livestream available to the public.
