ScienceTaiwan warns off Tongji amid grey-zone harassment
Taiwan’s coast guard warned off and shadowed the Chinese research ship Tongji near the Penghu and Liuqiu islands, marking the vessel’s third appearance since May in what Taipei calls ongoing maritime provocation as part of grey-zone tactics. The Tongji reportedly did not deploy instruments, while Taiwan vowed to defend its sovereignty amid persistent Chinese military activity around the island.
