A surplice is a liturgical vestment of Western Christianity, particularly in Latin Catholicism, Evangelical-Lutheranism and Anglicanism. The surplice is in the form of a tunic of white linen or cotton fabric, reaching to the knees, with wide or moderately wide sleeves.
