Overview
Rorschach is an American comic book limited series written by Tom King and drawn by Jorge Fornés. The series is published by DC Comics under their DC Black Label imprint. Rorschach is a standalone sequel to the comic book maxiseries Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, and is tangentially linked to the television limited series of the same name by Damon Lindelof, seemingly unconnected to the events of the alternative sequel Doomsday Clock.
Premise
In 1985, Walter Kovacs - the violent vigilante known as Rorschach - is killed while attempting to expose teammate Ozymandias as the mastermind behind the "Squid" - a mutated organism that kills half of the population of New York and inspires a tentative world peace. Thirty-five years later, Rorschach is the basis of many right-wing conspiracy theories involving U.S. President Robert Redford, superheroes and an imminent alien invasion. An unnamed homicide detective investigates the crimes committed by Wil Myerson, a radicalised comic book artist who assumed the Rorschach mantle and was killed during the attempted assassination of a Presidential candidate.
