Former Kansas priest arrested on three counts
Kansas priest Ryan A. McCandless, 44, was arrested in Wichita on three counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, alleged to have abused a 6-year-old in Belleville between July and September 2025 and is expected to be transferred to Republic County Jail. The Diocese of Salina suspended him from ministry and says it is cooperating with civil and ecclesiastical investigations, noting his prior service at parishes in Republic County and other locations.
