Polaris is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Arnold Drake and artist Jim Steranko, the character first appeared in The X-Men #49, though she is not called Polaris until The X-Men #97. Dane has also been a member of the X-Men and the X-Factor, in which she is frequently paired with her on-again off-again romantic interest Havok.
