Matt Cook is professor of modern history at Birkbeck College, University of London. Oxford University announced on 5 June 2023 that Cook will take up the position as the first Jonathan Cooper chair of the history of sexualities at Mansfield College in October 2023. This will make him UK's first Professor of LGBTQ+ history.
