James Ernest Stephens (25 November 1881 – 22 June 1962) was an Australian politician who represented the South Australian House of Assembly seat of Port Adelaide from 1933 to 1959 for the Labor Party. James was the 3rd of 5 children born to William John Stephens and Frances Myall. James married Nellie Baverstock on the 29th of March 1902. They had 8 children. Founder of the Port Adelaide Co-operative Bakery Society.
