Zydus Lifesciences plans Phase III Desidustat trial sickle cell ICMR

Zydus Lifesciences has received regulatory approval to initiate a 203-day Phase III trial of Desidustat for sickle cell disease in collaboration with ICMR, enrolling 164 patients to assess efficacy and safety of the oral tablet. The move follows successful Phase II results and US FDA Orphan Drug Designation, underscoring a public-private effort to address India's substantial SCD burden.
