TechBrazil Plans 2.3-Billion-Real AI Supercomputers in Two Sites
Brazil is investing about 2.3 billion reais ($444 million) to build two AI supercomputers, splitting the funds between Huawei/iFlytek in Rio de Janeiro and a Nvidia-led project in Rio Grande do Norte to diversify suppliers and boost technological autonomy. The funding, drawn from the National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development, aims to strengthen data sovereignty and balance ties with the US and China by pursuing both Chinese and American technology partnerships.
