Ecosia's search results are provided by its own search index, Staan, developed by the co-founded European Search Perspective (EUSP), as well as Google and Microsoft Bing; thus, Ecosia is partly a proxy search engine. In 2025, Ecosia had a global market share of 0.10-0.15%.
