HealthNationwide health systems expand patient access
Hospitals are increasingly applying high-reliability organization principles to boost patient safety and, importantly, patient access and care coordination, with UT MD Anderson cited as a benchmark; meanwhile programs like Expanded Access for investigational therapies and the ACA's CMMI ACCESS trial are testing technology-enabled approaches to manage chronic disease, offering options when standard treatments or trials aren't available. In parallel, regional efforts like Mountain Community Health Partnership expanding services and a push to digitize interoperability—despite remaining gaps in adoption and reliance on non-digital workflows—shape greater data sharing and access to care for underserved communities.
