Overview
Belmont High School is a four-year public high school in Belmont, Massachusetts, United States. The school had 1,364 students enrolled and a student/teacher ratio of 16.3:1 in the 2022–2023 school year.
Belmont High School was ranked #290 in the 2023 US News National Rankings and #3 in Massachusetts for traditional high schools by USNews.
Buildings and facilities
The current school building was completed in September 2021. As of 2022 it was the largest building in Massachusetts utilizing geothermal for heating and cooling. Located next to Clay Pit Pond, it is adjacent to the previous school, built in 1970 but now demolished. Prior to that the high school was located on Orchard Street, which was badly damaged by fire in 1967.
