Son Seok-koo

Son Suk-ku (; born February 7, 1983), also spelled as Son Seok-koo, is a South Korean actor. He gained recognition for his roles in the television series Matrimonial Chaos (2018), Designated Survivor: 60 Days (2019), D.P. (2021), and My Liberation Notes (2022), as well as the films Nothing Serious (2021) and The Roundup (2022). Early life Son was born on February 7, 1983, in Taepyeong-dong, Jung-gu, Daejeon, South Korea. He started studying abroad early in middle school and continued his studies in Canada and the United States. He majored in visual arts and film at the School of Art Institute of Chicago, dreaming of becoming a documentary director. In 2005, during his mandatory military service, he volunteered to join the Zaytun Division, a Republic of Korea Army contingent which carried out peacekeeping and reconstruction missions in war-torn Iraq. How he became an actor During his military service years in Iraq, he served as an interpreter in nearby countries such as Saudi Arabia. When he met the soldiers from the army, they had nothing to do but play sports together. Soon, Son Suk-ku dreamt of becoming a professional basketball player. He spent his day in a routine of exercise and training. However, when his morning routines were over, he had nothing else to do during his spare time in the afternoon. So that was when he started learning to act at an academy. After performing at his very first performance, he realized that being an actor was a suitable job for him. However, he could not become a well-known actor so fast. During his no-name actor lifetime, he experienced hard times staying home and doing nothing. He did not even try out for auditions at the time. Since then, he continued his acting career in dramas and movies and is currently one of the most famous actors in Korea.
