Joan

Joan is an upcoming British television series for ITVX, with Sophie Turner depicting real-life character Joan Hannington, a figure known as "the Godmother" by certain aspects of the British criminal underworld. Synopsis The series will show Hannington's journey from housewife and mother, to petty offender, to diamond thief and criminal mastermind in 1980s London. It has been created by Anna Symon, who is adapting from Hannington's 2004 memoir I Am What I Am: The True Story of Britain's Most Notorious Jewel Thief, with the pair meeting as Symon was writing the series. Paul Frift serves as producer and it is directed by Richard Laxton. The project comes from Snowed-In Productions and is executive produced by Ruth Kenley-Letts, Jenny Van Der Lande, Neil Blair and Richard Laxton. The series is co-produced in association with All3Media International, which will handle distribution of the show outside the United Kingdom, and The CW, which will air it in the United States.
