Sidney Sugarman

Sidney Sugarman (September 4, 1904 – August 9, 1974) was a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York from 1949 to 1974 and its Chief Judge from 1966 to 1971. Education and career Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Sugarman received a Bachelor of Laws from Boston University School of Law in 1925. He was in private practice in New York City, New York, from 1927 to 1946. He was counsel for the Bronx County Clerk's Office in New York from 1939 to 1946.
