George Thomas McDermott

George Thomas McDermott (October 21, 1886 – January 19, 1937) was a United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and previously was a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the District of Kansas. Education and career Born in Winfield, Kansas, McDermott received a Bachelor of Philosophy from the University of Chicago in 1908 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School in 1909. He was in private practice in Topeka, Kansas from 1910 to 1917. He was in the United States Army as a Lieutenant from 1917 to 1919. He returned to private practice in Topeka from 1919 to 1928.
