Clarence Hale

Clarence Hale (April 15, 1848 – April 9, 1934) was a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the District of Maine. Education and career Born in Turner, Maine, Hale received an Artium Baccalaureus degree from Bowdoin College in 1869, an Artium Magister degree from the same institution, then read law to enter the bar in 1871. He was in private practice in Portland, Maine from 1871 to 1902, also serving as city solicitor for Portland from 1879 to 1882, and as a member of the Maine House of Representatives from 1883 to 1886.
