Matthew Harvey

Matthew Harvey (June 21, 1781 – April 7, 1866) was a United States representative from New Hampshire, the 13th governor of New Hampshire and a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Education and career Born on June 21, 1781, in Sutton, New Hampshire, Harvey studied under private tutors, graduated from Dartmouth College in 1806, and read law in 1809. He was admitted to the bar and entered private practice in Hopkinton, New Hampshire, from 1809 to 1814. He was a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 1814 to 1821, serving as Speaker for three terms, from 1818 to 1820. Congressional service
