Wrtn Reported Unicorn, Raises 100 Billion Won
Wrtn Technologies, a Seoul-based AI services platform, secured about 100 billion won ($72 million) in a Series C round, valuing the company at over 1 trillion won and making it the first Korean AI service startup to reach that threshold. The round brought total funding to roughly 230 billion won, with new investors Coreline Ventures and Eugene Asset Management joining alongside existing backers such as Goodwater Capital, Antler Global, Woori Venture Partners, and the Korea Development Bank. The company is accelerating its international expansion, with its OOC content platform launched in North America and quickly generating significant overseas revenue that now outweighs domestic figures. Wrtn expects 2026 revenue to exceed 200 billion won, signaling rapid growth and a favorable revenue multiple relative to its valuation. It is also strengthening user protections, including time limits for minors, enhanced parental consent, spending caps on Crack, and participation in industry self-regulation efforts. The funding underscores Wrtn’s push to scale globally while balancing rapid monetization with safety and governance across its AI entertainment offerings.
