VinFast, Gowa Motor plan Indonesia EV JV
VinFast and Gowa Motor Group announced a strategic MoU to form a joint venture that will expand VinFast’s electric vehicle dealership network in Indonesia, aiming to open at least 30 showrooms and service centers nationwide. The partnership supports VinFast’s broader push to grow in Southeast Asia and capitalize on Indonesia as a key EV market, building on VinFast’s existing network of more than 40 showrooms and plans to add over 150 more. By combining VinFast’s product development capabilities and EV ecosystem with Gowa Motor Group’s local market knowledge and distribution network, the venture seeks to deliver a more convenient, comprehensive EV ownership experience for Indonesian customers. Leaders from both sides emphasize the potential for growth, better after-sales support, and acceleration of Indonesia’s green transportation transition. The agreement is part of VinFast’s wider ecosystem expansion in Indonesia, including collaborations with charging infrastructure providers and other partners to strengthen its retail and service network.
