Ukraine Strikes Crimea and Nizhnekamsk Refinery
Kyiv’s military intelligence claims to have struck two S-400 air-defense launchers and a drone-control antenna in Crimea, causing tens of millions in damages to facilities on the peninsula. Separately, Ukrainian long-range strikes hit Russia’s Tatarstan region, targeting the Nizhnekamsk oil refinery with initial reports of 12 to 13 dead and dozens injured. The attacks are presented as part of a broader pattern of long-range operations aimed at degrading Russia’s energy infrastructure and military potential, provoking retaliatory strikes. Russian officials say they intercepted hundreds of drones overnight; independent verification remains limited. Kyiv says these strikes aim to pressure Moscow toward negotiations, while Moscow accuses Kyiv of escalating attacks inside Russia. The incidents come amid mounting civilian casualties and global scrutiny over the war's humanitarian impact.
