Stellantis recalls 955,000 vehicles worldwide over rear-view camera software issue
Stellantis is recalling about 955,000 vehicles worldwide because faulty radio software may prevent rear-view cameras from operating properly. In the United States, 848,000 affected units span 2026 and 2027 model years across Chrysler Pacifica, Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid, Voyager, Dodge Charger, Jeep models, and Ram trucks. About 107,000 additional vehicles are recalled in Canada, Mexico, and other markets. The company says an over-the-air software update will address the issue, and no related accidents have been reported; drivers are advised to rely on mirrors when reversing if camera failures occur. Regulators have long prioritized rear-view visibility, with the NHTSA mandating rear-view cameras in 2018 due to backover crash risks. The recall underscores ongoing concerns about automotive software reliability and vehicle safety features.
