Natasha Cloud condemns Kanter Freedom, shifts focus

Natasha Cloud addressed reporters for the first time since her confrontation with Enes Kanter Freedom, saying she won’t discuss an “irrelevant person” and will instead focus on issues that affect women and children today. She labeled the culture-war discourse surrounding the WNBA an intentional distraction that distracts from real-life issues facing communities. The incident with Kanter Freedom occurred during a Sky-Fever game, where he wore a shirt reading “WOMAN noun. adult human female” and Cloud emphasized that the conversation should not center on him. Sky owner Michael Alter subsequently banned Freedom from attending Sky games, and Cloud supported the move as protective of players, urging a possible league-wide ban. Cloud stressed the need to protect women and highlighted issues such as domestic violence, sexual assault, food insecurity, healthcare access, and mortality among women, while criticizing right-wing rhetoric and hypocrisy toward the league.
