Solar eclipse path runs Greenland to Spain with partials

On August 12, 2026, a total solar eclipse will travel a path that includes Greenland, Iceland, and Spain, with totality briefly darkening those areas while much of Europe and the Atlantic experiences a partial eclipse. The UK Met Office says Devon and Cornwall are premier viewing spots and warns several Welsh, Scottish, and English sites will see extensive sun obscuration of about 90–96%.
