Philips Imricor MR-guided cardiac lab platform debut
Royal Philips and Imricor Medical Systems have launched a commercial interventional MR lab solution that combines Philips’ 1.5T BlueSeal helium-free MRI platform with Imricor’s MR-compatible systems, catheters, and tools to support MR-guided cardiac interventions, including electrophysiology. The integrated platform features Philips' Cardiac MR Suite with SmartHeart AI planning alongside Imricor’s NorthStar mapping, Advantage-MR EP Recorder/Stimulator, and Vision-MR catheters to enable real-time visualization and catheter tracking in a radiation-free environment. The initial configuration is immediately available in CE-marked markets, with certain US configurations also offered and more US configurations expected subject to regulatory clearances. The solution aims to expand into additional interventional areas beyond cardiac procedures as regulatory and clinical development proceed, reinforcing a broader MR ecosystem for image-guided interventions. Philips and Imricor have framed the collaboration as a long-running effort to bring MR guidance directly into the procedure room, with plans to showcase the platform at ESC Congress 2026 in Munich.
