Path of Exile 2 full release planned
Path of Exile 2’s full 1.0 release is planned for December 11, 2026, leaving Early Access with the addition of the Duelist class and the remaining story chapters, and it will switch to free-to-play at launch. In advance of 1.0, Grinding Gear Games is launching the Forbidden Rite event on September 4, accompanied by patch 0.5.5 as a mid-cycle economy reset while the ongoing Runes of Aldur league continues. The event introduces Ritual sites in every campaign area, with independent tribute systems for players and the appearance of special effigies that yield unique rewards. It also brings back the Wildwood mechanic via Sacred Blooms, adds a new map-entry objective in endgame maps, and offers exclusive cosmetics and a commemorative statue. Patch 0.5.5 will not include balance changes; those adjustments are saved for the 1.0 release in December. The updates are designed to bridge the game from its Early Access phase to the full launch across PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, highlighting the Duelist’s sword-based combat and the remaining Acts of the campaign.
