Josey Dorsey to make screen debut in Burning Valley
Naya Rivera’s son, Josey Hollis Dorsey, is set to make his screen acting debut in The Burning Valley, appearing opposite his father Ryan Dorsey. The feature, written and directed by Evan Coury in his debut, began filming in Pennsylvania’s Rust Belt and centers on a steelworker facing a mill shutdown. On IMDb, Josey is listed as playing a character titled “Boy” while Ryan portrays “Father.” Coury describes the film as a small, poetic exploration of deindustrialization and a way to encapsulate the region’s history through one man’s personal journey. This project comes six years after Rivera’s death in 2020 and follows Josey’s earlier stage work, including Seussical Jr. in West Virginia. The story underscores Rivera’s legacy and the budding acting careers of her son and Dorsey.
