Netflix Plans Manifest Spinoff Arrivals With New Cast
Netflix is expanding the Manifest universe with Arrivals: A New Manifest Mystery, a sci-fi spinoff led by creator Jeff Rake and co-creators/co-showrunners Margaret Easley and Laura Putney, with Warner Bros. Television as the studio. The series introduces a fresh cast and a new mystery, centered on a plane that crash-lands in Denver and leaves its passengers with no memory of who they are, as a young social worker and a novice Homeland Security agent work with the arrivals to avert a humanity-threatening catastrophe. The announcement reinforces Netflix’s strategy of leveraging Flight 828’s symbolism by sharing the news on 8/28 at 8:28 a.m. PT, mirroring past milestones in the Manifest rollout. Rake and his team will continue to develop the story within the same universe, maintaining creative continuity while presenting a bold, new chapter for fans. Netflix confirms the project builds on the original series’ success, which aired on NBC and was later revived by Netflix for a final fourth season. The show aims to attract both longtime Manifest fans and a new audience with a standalone mystery that remains tethered to the franchise’s core concepts.
