Einride plans 500 Tesla Semis rollout for Amazon
Einride AB announced a plan to deploy 500 Tesla Semis across its North American operations, starting in September 2026 and rolling out in phases over 24 months, with third-party financing. The expansion will triple Einride’s electric truck fleet and support customers such as Amazon along key freight corridors in California, Texas, New Jersey, Illinois, and Georgia. The move centers on Saga AI, Einride’s fleet platform, and aims to convert about $800 million in potential long-term annual recurring revenue into active freight capacity. CEO Roozbeh Charli says the deployment demonstrates the company’s ability to scale to meet customer demand, while Tesla’s Dan Priestley highlights potential cost savings from electric trucks. The rollout is described as the largest of its kind and signals a major boost to Einride’s electric freight network and autonomous capability ambitions. The development comes in the context of Tesla’s ongoing production milestones for the Semi and Einride’s rapid growth since going public.
