Dothan Grooming Shop Owner Charged After Dead Cats
Investigators found several dead cats and other animals left in enclosures at JoJo’s LaundroMutt in Dothan after reports of a strong odor, and the business reportedly had no active utilities since June. Brandi Leann Tyrrell, 41, of Midland City, has been charged with two felony counts of first-degree cruelty to a cat and six counts of animal cruelty in connection with the case. Authorities say the animals had likely been left unattended for about a month and Tyrrell had not been seen at the business for about three weeks. The case has drawn concern from neighbors and pet advocates about animal-cruelty situations, with calls for accountability and safe options for overwhelmed pet owners. Police are seeking Tyrrell’s whereabouts and are asking the public for tips via Crimestoppers or CrimeStoppers.
