C.J. Uzomah retires after 10 NFL seasons

Veteran tight end C.J. Uzomah has retired after a 10-year NFL career, seven of them with the Cincinnati Bengals. Drafted 157th overall in 2015 out of Auburn, he developed into a reliable blocker and receiver and was a key contributor during Cincinnati’s playoff run that culminated in a Super Bowl LVI appearance. He also spent time with the New York Jets (2022–23) and the Philadelphia Eagles (2024), finishing his career with 113 games, 192 receptions, 1,881 yards and 16 touchdowns. Uzomah announced his retirement on social media, thanking Cincinnati and describing the city as his second home as he reflected on the team’s culture and playoff success. Beyond the on-field production, he was a vocal locker-room leader during the Bengals’ rise and helped set a tone for the franchise’s sustained competitiveness.
