Asheville Officer-Involved Shooting Leaves One Man Dead on Nancy Street

An officer-involved shooting on Nancy Street in Asheville early Aug. 27 resulted in one fatality after police responded to multiple reports of a breaking and entering. Officers encountered a man armed with a knife inside the residence and, after he refused commands to drop the weapon, opened fire; the suspect died from his injuries at Mission Hospital.
