“The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg says it is not a secret what President Joe Biden’s personal views on Abortion are.
On Wednesday, guest Lindsey Granger noted that a senator suggested there were doubts about Biden’s views on Abortion.
Goldberg responded, “We do know where Biden stands. He’s a Roman Catholic. He does not believe in Abortion.”
“But he’s the president of the whole United States, and so he is governing as the president. That’s where he stands,” she continued.
Goldberg added, “That’s where a lot of folks stand. And that’s OK.”
Watch the video below:
Biden is Catholic, and last year, Pope Francis confirmed that the view of the church is that “Abortion is murder.”
Still, he has expressed support for protecting access to Abortion throughout his presidency.
In March, a reporter asked the president, “You said you support Roe v. Wade. As a Catholic, why do you support Abortion?”
“I don’t want to get in a debate with you on theology,” Biden responded.
Instead, he simply said, “I’m not going to make a judgment for other people.”
In case you missed it:
Biden also had tough words for a leaked draft opinion that appeared to show the Supreme Court is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade.
The president was asked on Tuesday if he believes the leak “has irreparably changed the court.”
“Well, you know, if this decision holds, it’s really a radical decision,” Biden responded.
“Does this mean that in Florida, they can decide they’re going to pass a law saying that same-sex marriage is not permissible? It’s against the law in Florida. So, it’s a fundamental shift in American jurisprudence,” Biden asked.
