‘The View’ Co-Host Claims MTG Sounded ‘Really Dumb’ in ’60 Minutes’ Interview

A co-host of ABC’s “The View” is ripping Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-Ga.) comments about Democrats and gender-affirming care.

On Monday, the show’s panelists discussed the congresswoman’s interview with CBS News’ “60 Minutes.”

After showing a portion where Greene accused Democrats of supporting the sexualization of children, co-host Whoopi Goldberg sat in stunned silence for a few seconds.

She asked, “Do you agree with critics who say the show is helping to legitimize her ridiculous rhetoric?”

“I don’t think it legitimizes her anymore than her words embarrass her,” co-host Sara Haines responded, adding, “I actually, in this instance, think it was a bad move for ’60 Minutes.'”

She went on:

“And let me just clarify one thing from that sound bite: There are people that say, ‘If you’re not a gun owner you talk about guns, you sound dumb. She sounds really dumb veering into LGBT+ because gender-affirming procedures are not about sexuality or sexual orientation, it’s about gender.”

Haines added, “So the fact that she doesn’t even know the difference, she probably shouldn’t speak to it at all because it’s insulting to everyone involved.

In an interview with “60 Minutes,” Greene doubled down on her claim Democrats are a party of pedophiles,” as IJR reported.

“I would definitely say so. They support grooming children,” she insisted.

When pressed on why she is making that claim, the Georgia congresswoman said, “Democrats support – even Joe Biden, the president himself supports –children being sexualized and having transgender surgeries. Sexualizing children is what pedophiles do to children.”
