National Security Advisor Claims He Told Putin’s ‘Right Hand Man’ Not to Interfere With the Election

U.S. National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien is reassuring Americans he warned Russia against interfering with the upcoming November election.

CBS’s Margaret Brennan mentioned during O’Brien’s appearance on “Face the Nation” he previously told her he personally spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s right-hand man about influencing the presidential election.

She argued Russia is trying to “test your limits” and asked him what he is going to do about it.

“We’re monitoring things very carefully and I can tell you there’s severe consequences to anyone who attempts to interfere with our elections on election day,” O’Brien said.

During the final presidential debate on Thursday night, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden accused President Donald Trump of failing to say anything to Putin about Russian interference, as IJR previously reported.

“I don’t think he’s said a word. I don’t know why he hasn’t said a word to Putin about it and I don’t know what he has recently said, if anything… my guess is he’d probably be more outspoken with regard to the Iranians,” Biden said.

He added, “Everything that’s going on here about Russia is wanting to make sure that I do not get elected to the next president of the United States because they know I know them and they know me.”

As of Friday, more than 50 million Americans have cast ballots, as IJR previously reported.

The president voted in Florida on Saturday.

“It was a very secure vote, much more secure than when you send in a ballot,” Trump said reiterating his position on mail-in ballots.

He added, “I voted for a guy named Trump.”

Trump decided to vote in person even though he requested an absentee ballot.

“I like being able to vote. I’m old fashioned I guess,” Trump said during a rally in Florida on Friday.
