Former CNN anchor Don Lemon said he is considering a possible 2028 presidential campaign while sharply criticizing President Donald Trump and the MAGA movement.

According to Fox News, during a Wednesday appearance on the "Can't Be Censored" podcast, Lemon compared MAGA to the Nazi Party and accused Trump of leading a fascist movement.

"MAGA is the closest thing to the modern version of the Nazi Party," Lemon said. "This is America’s version. It’s the closest thing, without the Holocaust and all that stuff."

Lemon made the comments while discussing the future of the Republican Party after Trump eventually leaves the political stage. He also accused MAGA supporters of being motivated by racial power rather than economic concerns.

"We’ve careened into fascism," Lemon said. "The President

is a fascist."

The White House responded by sharply criticizing the former CNN anchor.

"Don Lemon is a low ratings loser that no one takes seriously," White House spokesman Davis Ingle said. "He should immediately seek psychiatric help to treat his severe and debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome."

Lemon also addressed speculation about his own political future, saying people have repeatedly encouraged him to run for President.

"I don’t know, I might," Lemon said. "I’m serious. I don’t know. I might because people keep asking me to do it."

He said he has already spoken with people who have experience in Politics and would prefer to build a campaign around small-dollar donations from voters rather than relying heavily on wealthy donors.

Lemon also revisited his 2023 departure from CNN, claiming the network wanted to remove him because he was "the gay Black guy."

CNN disputed that characterization, saying the decision was unrelated to his race or sexual orientation.

"Don was an important member of the CNN family for nearly 20 years," a CNN spokesperson said, adding that the network disagreed with Lemon's account of his departure while wishing him success.
