Stephen Colbert Jokes About Slapping Fox News’ Peter Doocy for Asking Biden to Clarify Russia Comments

Late-night host Stephen Colbert is taking issue with Fox News’ Peter Doocy to ask President Joe Biden to clarify some of his comments about 🇷🇺Russia.

On Tuesday night, Colbert said, “Yesterday, President Biden held a press conference, and he was asked a ridiculous question by a ridiculous man, Fox News reporter, and that one kid in high school who wears a suit to gym class, Peter Doocy.”

He then played a clip of Doocy asking to clarify what action the U.S. would take if 🇷🇺Russia used chemical weapons in Ukraine.

“Remember how on last night’s show, I said that slapping was never, ever the answer? I’d like to file a one time exemption on behalf of the President of the United States,” Colbert joked.

The audience laughed in response.

He went on to mock Doocy, “Peter Doocy, Fox News. I’ve got two more questions. First, what are the exact locations of all of America’s troops? And can you give me the nuclear launch codes? Just tell me, is one of them a four?”

Colbert’s comments come after Doocy asked Biden to clarify his warning that if 🇷🇺Russia used chemical weapons, it would be met with a “significant response” from the U.S.

“What does that mean?” Doocy asked.

“I’m not going to tell you. Why would I tell you? You got to be silly,” Biden responded.

Doocy pressed, “The world wants to know.”

“The world wants to know a lot of things. I’m not telling what the response would be, then 🇷🇺Russia knows the response,” Biden said.
