Hayden Panettiere suffered cardiac arrest after a suspected overdose at a South Carolina apartment, according to 911 dispatch audio obtained by The Post.
According to the New York Post, a caller contacted emergency services at 1:51 p.m. Sunday from an apartment in Greenville, reporting an "unresponsive female" who was in "cardiac arrest." Panettiere was 36.
Paramedics began advanced cardiac life support measures in an effort to revive the actress. The emergency response can include CPR, defibrillation, breathing support and medications.
Minutes later, another emergency medical responder described the incident as a possible "overdose," according to the dispatch audio. The responder also reported that "CPR is in progress."
Panettiere was pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m., just five days before her 37th birthday.
It was not immediately clear who made the initial 911 call. Police said Panettiere was discovered by an "acquaintance," but authorities did not identify that person.
Reports said Panettiere had traveled from Los Angeles to South Carolina with her on-and-off boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, on Saturday.
It was not immediately known whether Hickerson was the acquaintance who found her.
Police said there were no "signs of foul play." An autopsy was scheduled to be conducted Monday as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding her Death.
