President Joe Biden is getting roasted for comments he made about fees for upgrading seats on airlines.
In remarks meant to outline his plan to help bring down costs for Americans dealing with inflation, Biden spoke about so-called junk fees.
One such fee he singled out included charges for seating upgrades on airplanes.
“Some airlines, if you want six more inches between you and the seat in front, you pay more money,” Biden said.
He continued, “But you don’t know it until you purchase your ticket.”
Finally, the president said, “Look folks, these are junk fees, they’re unfair, and they hit marginalized Americans the hardest, especially low-income folks and people of color.”

Biden also spoke about other fees, such as overdraft fees for banks which he said are “taking real money out of your pockets.”
The Hill noted the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is “taking new steps to eliminate billions in banking fees, hidden charges and added fees on cable bills, airline tickets, and hotel bookings.”
