Arkansas extends Van Horn contract through 2031
Arkansas baseball coach Dave Van Horn has signed a contract extension through 2031, replacing the 2021 10-year deal and boosting his annual pay to $2.1 million with bonuses tied to a College World Series championship and contract completion. The agreement cements Van Horn’s long tenure, as he enters his 39th year as a head coach and 25th at Arkansas, after guiding the Razorbacks to eight College World Series appearances and a 2018 national runner-up finish. University officials praised his leadership and announced significant program investments to support him and his staff. Van Horn’s associate coach, Bobby Wernes, also received an extension through 2028, starting at $155,000 and rising to $180,000. In addition to the contract, Van Horn has been and will be recognized by multiple halls of fame, including induction into the ABCA Hall of Fame in 2027, reflecting a career with more than 1,300 Division I wins. The announcements come as Arkansas continues to leverage stability and high-level success in its baseball program.
