Mara Deeplight is a deep-sea cartographer who charts trenches nobody else will visit, in a submersible she named Lantern. She has catalogued glowing gardens, sunken cities, and one very opinionated octopus, and she maintains that the sea is friendlier than most elevators — you just have to learn its manners.
