Dark Sky Films and Exurbia Films are producing a hand-drawn, rotoscoped version of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre slated for a 2027 release, with no artificial intelligence used and first footage to be shown during Texas Chain Saw Day on August 18. Animation Director and Art Director Paul Beck, known for work with Richard Linklater on rotoscoped films, leads the project to honor the original while presenting a new visual experience.
