Sorghum production in Mexico

Sorghum production in Mexico was established in the second half of the twentieth century, with sorghum primarily being used in the country as animal feed. The crop grew rapidly between its introduction in the late 1950s and 1980, making the country one of the world's largest producers of sorghum. However, Mexico remains a major importer of sorghum, mainly from the United States.
