PMI, Altria forge U.S. cigarette manufacturing pact

Philip Morris International announced a contract manufacturing arrangement with Philip Morris USA (Altria) through its non-U.S. affiliates, with first shipments targeted for early 2027, while PMI remains focused on a smoke-free future and does not plan to commercialize combustibles in the United States; both companies will operate independently with separate commercialization, distribution, and regulatory responsibilities, and the deal is not expected to materially affect PMI’s 2026 financial results.
